The Turkey Stone was invented by Slavisa Trtic, an engineer by training and artist by profession. Slavisa hails from ex Yugoslavia and now lives in Oregon, U.S.
After immigrating to the United States, Slavisa quickly came to love American Thanksgiving traditions. Especially, the lavish meal shared with family and friends.
But he didn’t love the whole, roast turkey as a centerpiece with its dry and often tasteless meat. Plus, Slavisa saw how stressful it can be for home cooks to roast such a large bird well with all the other demands of the day.
One Thanksgiving, watching his wife's aunt struggle with this culinary project, he came up with the novel idea of inside-out cooking. And that was the start of the Turkey Stone!
